The Bakers, down from the mountains ...

"The LORD will guide you continually, And satisfy your soul in drought, And strengthen your bones; You shall be like a watered garden, And like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail. Those from among you Shall build the old waste places; You shall raise up the foundations of many generations; And you shall be called the Repairer of the Breach, The Restorer of Streets to Dwell In."

Jacob shot his first deer!!!!!

Tuesday evening caught Jay and I (Coy) in a tree stand on the edge of a power-line overlooking a food plot. About 10 minutes before dark, we spotted 3 does crossing the power-line at about 150 yards to our left. Jay got the gun up but decided it was to far and dark for his shooting capabilities. No more then 3 minutes after this decision we heard movement on the right and a large spike walked out broadside. After stopping him with some grunts, Jay's .243 Remington roared. After finding the deer about 25 yards away we realized he doubled lunged him through the heart and broke a shoulder. Patience is truly a virtue.

This was Jay's first deer and it was a big one.
